Binh Minh Art Gallery welcomes the New Year with the "Spring of Binh Minh 2" Exhibition
The "Spring of Binh Minh 2" Exhibition, showcasing the captivating works of renowned Vietnamese artist Nghiem Xuan Hung, officially opened its doors to the public at 10:00 AM on February 9th at Binh Minh Art Gallery, located at 29A Ngo Thoi Nhiem Street, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City.
Therefore, the opening of artist Nghiem Xuan Hung exhibition is also marking the gallery's first event of the Lunar New Year named "Spring of Binh Minh 2".
Specifically, the exhibition lasts from February 9, 2025 to February 23, 2025. Open from 8:00 to 18:00 daily.
The exhibition displays typical works created by artist Nghiem Xuan Hung in years using many materials: oil painting, lacquer, engraving, paper cutting, silk, gouache, woodblock prints, bronze statues.
Artist Nghiem Xuan Hung was born in 1953 in Hanoi. In 1966 (when he was only 13 years old), he entered the Junior High School (7 years) at the Vietnam College of Fine Arts.
In 1972, after graduating, he worked at the Animation Studio, with the task of drawing motion pictures. In 1975, he was transferred to work at the Sculpture Division, Department of Fine Arts, Ministry of Culture.
In 1978, he entered the Sculpture Department, University level at the University of Fine Arts. After graduating in 1982, he worked at the Testing Department of UNIMEX Hanoi. In 1986, he worked at the Sculpture Department - Vietnam Fine Arts Association.
Since 1980, while still a student, he successfully created the monolithic terracotta work “Protecting Life”, 1m60 high, (one copy is on display at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum and the other at the Vietnam Academy of Theatre and Cinema).
Since 1989, he began to create freely and professionally on many different themes: landscape, still life, portrait... using many materials: pencil, print, ceramic, paper cutting, lacquer, silk; especially creating with lacquer material with the exhibition at the IMF Office opened for the first time in Vietnam, all works were sold out.
