In 1972, he wrote the famous poem long "Dear, Hanoi Street", which was later excerpted and set to music by musician Phu Quang and became one of the best songs about Hanoi. After the country's reunification, Phan Vu returned to Saigon to work at Ho Chi Minh City Television Station. Since 1995, he has painted oil paintings and has exhibited many times at home and abroad.
At the exhibition, there are 26 paintings with oil paint, size 80x80 cm, including 15 works titled "Dear, Hanoi Street". The remaining works are self-portraits, portraits, landscapes and abstract paintings with contrasting colors as he once confided to the press "something like a bit of narrative tragedy with bright colors, contrasting, but with a deep level that creates a gentle sadness.”
