Exhibition A love of painting

Looking at the aspect of the collection theme, the exhibition 'A love of painting' – introducing a part of Truong Van Thuan's collection (opening at 10am on June 22 at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts) is unique in Vietnam.

Opening this morning June 22 at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts, the exhibition A Love of Painting by collector Truong Van Thuan introduces about 200 works of painting and sculpture, of which nearly half are works shows portraits of him and his family. Looking specifically at the aspect of displaying portraits as a "self-exhibition", this is a unique and rare collection in Vietnam.

In Binh Minh Gallery, there is a large and beautiful painting called "Tinh Hoa Gia" (a quiet and peacefuul family) painted by artist Nghiem Xuan Hung about the family of collector Truong Van Thuan.

Coming to painting was like a chance encounter, yet that relationship with Colonel Truong Van Thuan has been strong for nearly 30 years now. His wife - circus artist Anh Tuyet - often teases: "Sometimes I want to turn into a painting for him to look at all days."

The fate came to Truong Van Thuan nearly 30 years ago, when he helped the family of a famous artist and a collector in difficult times.
