EXHIBITION “XUÂN - BÌNH MINH”
On the occasion of welcoming the Lunar New Year, Binh Minh Art Gallery would like to introduce the Solo Exhibition of Artist Nghiem Xuan Hung, which is also the Spring Opening of Binh Minh Art Gallery entitled "SPRING - BINH MINH 2".
The exhibition displays typical works that he has created in years with many materials: oil paint, lacquer, engraving, paper cut, silk, gouache, prints, bronze statues.
Artist Nghiem Xuan Hung, born in 1953 in Hanoi. In 1966 (when he was only 13 years old), he entered the Junior High School (7 years) of the Vietnam College of Fine Arts.
In 1972, after graduating, he worked at the Animation Film Studio, with the task of animation. In 1975, he was transferred to work at the Sculpture Division, Fine Arts Department, Ministry of Culture.
In 1978, he started studying at the Faculty of Sculpture, University level at the University of Fine Arts. After graduating in 1982, he returned to work at the Laboratory of UNIMEX Hanoi. In 1986, he returned to work at the Sculpture Division - Vietnam Fine Arts Association.
During his career as a fine art artist, since 1980 when he was still a student, he successfully made the monolithic terracotta work "Protecting Life", 1m60 high (one is on display at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum and the other is at the Vietnam University of Theater and Cinema).
Since 1989, he has started to make art freely and professionally in many different themes: landscapes, still lifes, portraits... with many materials: pencil, prints, ceramics, paper cut, engraving, silk; especially the creation with lacquer materials for the exhibition at the IMF Office opened for the first time in Vietnam, the works has been sold out.
Opening at 10 a.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Binh Minh art gallery (binhminh-artgallery.vn - No. 29A Ngo Thoi Nhiem Street, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City); The exhibition lasts until February 23, 2025. Open from 08:00 to 18:00 daily.
