Nguyen Phan Hoa

- Born in 1954 in Hanoi, died in 2018.

- Graduated from Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts.

- For more than 30 years, Nguyen Phan Hoa was only passionate about painting lotuses. He painted lotuses so much that throughout his creative career, the late artist created nearly 1,000 paintings of lotuses, mainly in oil on canvas.

- The artist once shared “… The house where I grew up is located along West Lake. Since childhood, I have loved and have many memories with lotus...". To him, lotus is beautiful in every angle, when the flower first sprouts, until it withers, whether in bright sunlight or stormy days. He wants to tell stories about life, origin, strength to rise,... through the images of leaves, buds, and branches of that noble flower.

- He participated in many group exhibitions and solo exhibitions at home and abroad. His works are kept in many museums and collections at home and abroad.
